Term 5

I am now halfway done with school! I'm still constantly stressed out and sleep deprived, but knowing I've made it this far is a pretty good feeling.

As I said before, I'm a kennel leader now. I shared my first day with Kyal, and things went pretty smoothly (aside from me being extremely tired.) I had my first day on my own this Monday with the newbies and it went really well! It wasn't my normal group because I was covering for someone, but I was so glad nothing crazy happened. That being said, one of the black scrubs (we identify each cohort by which color scrubs they wear and the black scrubs are right below us greenies) mentioned that their normal leader wasn't going to return from her trip until 6 am the next day. Knowing that there was no way she'd make it to kennels on time, I decided the right thing to do was to tell the kennel manager. Sure enough, the girl didn't show up the next day and made up an excuse. But now, my friend Gina is their leader, so that's great for her.

A lady who wants to adopt Honey is training her now and I'm feeling a little weird about it. I let her train her because I knew she wanted to take her home and I thought it'd be best for both of them to get to spend that extra time together. I still check on Honey every day and she gives me kisses. She just had her first heat cycle and is getting spayed next week. Gah, I'm so attached to that dog.

I decided to mix it up and train a cat this term. His name is Zero and he's the most snuggly cat I've ever met. He just melts my heart when he tucks his little paws in and rubs my face with his.

I'm still trying to find a job since I'm no longer able to get a loan for living expenses. I'm starting a very small job (like 8 hrs a week) at school in the admissions department next week. It's not much, but it's something. I've been applying other places almost every day. Jamie told me her work is looking for another receptionist, so I applied there today. She's also a receptionist there, and Gina works in the kennels. (As if I don't see those girls enough, hah!) They work with their school schedules, though, so it would be so nice if I got that job.
